Early Life
Dr Dre was born on February 18, 1965, in California. Andre Romelle Young started his early life by attending Vanguard Junior High school. Later he left due to increasing in Gang fights and joined Roosevelt High School, which is located in a safer place.
His parents got married in 1964 and three years after having a child in 1965, got separated in 1968 and sooner divorced in 1972.
Career
In 1984, Dr Dre joined a club called Eve After Dark and where many DJs and rappers performed live on the stage. Sooner he became a DJ in the “Dr. J” club, where he met Antoine Carraby who later became DJ Yella of a rap group Nigga Wit Attitude.
Dr. Dre started his career life as a member of World Class Wreckin’ Cru. Sooner joined a rap group Nigga Wit Attitude as a producer with fellow rappers like DJ Yella, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, and MC Ren. They released their debut album of 60 minutes by the name “Straight outta Compton” which became a significant success.
They produced several successful albums before Dr. Dre left N.W.An in 1991 after a dispute with Eazy-E and started his solo career. In 1992 he released the album “The Chronic” at death row records by Suge Knight, as an executive producer. This album came out to be a significant success and later a cultural phenomenon as it dominated much of the hip-hop industry in the 90s.
On March 22, 1996, after working four years with Under Death Row Records, Dr. Dre left it to found Aftermath entertainment and released his first album as “Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath”.
In 2008, he founded Beats Electronics and later in 2014, a piece of online music streaming service Beat Music. In 2014, Apple purchased Beats for $3 billion, adding $800 million to Dr. Dre’s net worth. His most recent release is an album Compton which aired on August 7, 2015.
